Rev. Dr. Violet Lee

The Reverend Violet L. D. Lee, Ph.D. is the Executive Program Minister of Christ Church, United Methodist, of New York City.  Dr. Lee holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree (BSW) from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, a Master of Social Work degree (MSW) from Howard University in Washington, DC, a Master of Divinity degree (M.Div.) from Union Theological Seminary in New York and a Ph.D. from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education. 

A former Licensed Graduate Social Worker in the District of Columbia, Dr. Lee serves as a general program supervisor of Nido de Esperanza in Washington Heights.  Until recently, Dr. Lee served as the Academic Advisor to the dual degree MDiv/MSW students matriculating at Union Theological Seminary and Columbia University or Hunter College’s School of Social Work.  She is a regular adjunct professor at Union and a visiting lecturer at Columbia University School of Social Work.  She serves on the Ordination Council for the American Baptist Churches – Metropolitan New York.    

Having served in both the public and private sectors, she enjoys the opportunities to blend ministry and social work in the service of others.   Dr. Lee is married to The Rev. Canon Terence Alexander Lee, Rector of the historic St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in the Village of Harlem.  They are proud and loving parents to two children.  

Brandon Batson

Brandon Batson is Director of Connections & Christ Church Online at Christ Church Methodist, New York. For the past 10 years, Brandon has served in vocational ministry as a church planter, worship leader, and creative director for churches in SC, CA, and NYC. He is passionate about seeing the church reach the next generation, provide inclusive community, and engage with the greater culture. 

Brandon has a bachelor’s degree in English and Mass Communication and is an accomplished videographer, editor, web developer and graphic designer.
